How Your WHY Affects Your Job and Your Career.


In 2009, Simon Sinek started a movement to help people become more inspired at work, and in turn inspire their colleagues and customers. Since then, millions have been touched by the power of his ideas, including more than 28 million who’ve watched his TED Talk based on START WITH WHY -- the third most popular TED video of all time.

Brendon saw this Ted Talk and it resonated deeply. He got the book on Audible and listened to it twice.  He brought his enthusiasm and the concept back to the office and led us in a 6 month process of developing and defining our WHY.


Now 2 years into the program, Brendon is talking about how finding your WHY can affect every aspect of your life, from your work to your personal life.   This session will focus on how to apply the principles of determining what motivates you to your job search and your career.

In 2014, as a thirtysomething, Brendon was promoted to “President” of The DAVIS Companies. At the same time he sold his first business, and has established himself as an innovator in the world of staffing.


Over the past 10 years he’s made a measurable impact on the business. His progressive thinking and dynamic leadership qualities have not only positioned The Davis Companies as a trusted advisor in the industry but also aided the company in winning Inavero’s 2014-2018 Best of Staffing® Client & Talent Award for providing superior service to their clients and candidates – which fewer than 2% of all staffing agencies in the U.S earn.


Brendon is a huge advocate of professional growth as well as personal growth and has made an on-going commitment to learning and self-improvement through Dale Carnegie Training's, Speaking Engagements, as well as giving back to the community.


Brendon is not your everyday “President”. He possesses leadership and business attributes that all company presidents’ have but what’s different about him is his compassion.


Whether he’s reworking his schedule to give a co-worker a ride home or taking employees to lunch, he’s earned the respect of his peers & coworkers from day one. He leads with a hands-on approach, and is known as a mentor and friend whose door is always open. Brendon views “success” as seeing others succeed. Helping his team get to where they want to be and watching them achieve their professional and personal goals is a victory in his book.


At the age of 34, Brendon found his “WHY”. After watching Simon Sineks “Start With Why” Ted Talk, Brendon knew he had a bigger purpose. Brendon led the 6-month process of creating The DAVIS Companies’ “WHY” journey every step of the way. From focus groups to one-on-one meetings with staff of all levels, Brendon facilitated the DAVIS process of defining our WHY and putting the framework around it. He met with other CEO’s about their journey and created an environment of candor and connection for the entire DAVIS team. The result has transformed the company and created a remarkable bond focused on shared core values and beliefs.


Brendon is an active family man who loves to golf, ski, snowmobile, wakesurf and kiteboard with his wife Katie and their sons Brody and Tanner. Brendon graduated with a BA in Business from University of New Hampshire.
